A high quality Scandinavian drama with a woolly jumper nowhere to be seen? Surely not! Then again, when you see that the action has been transferred from the police procedurals that make up Saturday nights on BBC4 to the masculine, close confines of a trawler under Somali Pirate control, you’ll understand why. Switching back and forth between the Indian Ocean and a Copenhagen boardroom, A Hijacking traces a hostage negotiation in compelling detail and confirms that Tobias Lindholm (best known for his writing on Borgen and features including Thomas Vinterberg’s The Hunt) is no slouch as a director either.
