Joe the Chainsmith + House of Friends
A rare Flatpack sortie to the Black Country, to screen two Philip Donnellan films about Cradley Heath and Brierley Hill.
Philip Donnellan had a special relationship with the Black Country, so it’s fitting that we bring two of his films back where they were made. These snapshots of Cradley Heath chain-making and Brierley Hill boozing are accompanied by a more recent documentary, Martin Parr’s 2011 portrait of Teddy Gray’s sweet factory in Dudley, commissioned and produced by Multistory.
Liquid refreshment will be dragged across the road from the Old Swan (aka Ma Pardoe’s) opposite, and available to purchase throughout the night.
Presented in partnership with Multistory.
