Flatpack Festival
Film for all the senses

Light Fantastic

Wednesday 25th April, 2012

The Electric Cinema Screen 2 | 07:53

A season of dance films curated by Flatpack for IDFB 2012.

Dates: 25 April - 15 May 2012

Venues: mac and Electric, with a closing party at the Spotted Dog in Digbeth.

April sees the return of Birmingham's International Dance Festival, a biennial celebration which brings together dancers from across the world. Alongside IDFB's programme of performances and public interventions, which this year includes a climactic outdoor show based on Wings of Desire, we'll be hosting a series of screenings inspired by the festival as well as movies chosen by some of those who are taking part. From musical matinees to late-night dance-battles, from northern soul marathons to the surreal moves of Jamaican dancehall, the full spectrum of cinematic rug-cutting will be on show. And to wrap things up look out for The Digbeth Shuffle - a unique video disco featuring the combined talents of 60s go-go troupe The Actionettes and DJs from the Sugarfoot Stomp.
