Illustrator and storyteller Lisa Gornick has a unique style, mixing comedy, pathos, ink, and watercolour to create a lo-fi multimedia experience. Her new show about her Grandma Ray, an East End cockney who sometimes ‘went posh’ and lived her life holding onto a secret. Once discovered, this very same secret, helps her granddaughter to live her life with an enlightened flourish. A witty, personal odyssey combining live art and filmmaking.
During the show, Lisa creates the imagery through live drawing and painting (which is projected onto the screen), whilst narrating the story. It’s a new form of storytelling where the film set meets the artist’s desk.
Presented in association with Shout Festival.
