Seven Days a Week Dir: Tal Amiran (UK 2015 – 10 mins) For the last 36 years, Paul has opened his North London paper stall at 4.40am, seven days a week, every week of the year. Now 66, and with his time selling papers nearing an end, Paul reflects on his life in the paper booth, and what the future holds for the stall he inherited from his father.

I’m Good With Plants Dir: Thomas Harnett O'Meara (UK 2015 – 8 mins) Tim lives in a greenhouse suspended by a crane above the city. He has two wishes in life: to steal the office plant next to the water cooler at work, and meet Francesca, the hot line operator he calls each day from a phone box in the street.

Seat 26D Dir: Karolina Brobäck (Sweden 2014 – 14 mins) Early morning, December 27th 1991. Flight 751 is taking off from Stockholm-Arlanda. At 1,000 meters altitude violent explosions are heard from both sides of the plane. With scale models built of paper, digital animation and live action, Seat 26D reconstructs a passenger’s memory of a plane crash.

Giovanni and the Water Ballet Dir: Astrid Bussink (Netherlands 2014 – 17 mins) Ten-year-old Giovanni is the only boy in a world of swimsuits, nose clips, glittery makeup and chattering girls. For the last four years, it’s been his dream to be the first boy to enter the Dutch synchronized swimming championship.

Herman the German Dir: Michael Binz (Germany 2015 – 15 mins) Herman is one of the most experienced bomb defusers in Germany. After a medical examination, Herman learns that he suffers from the very rare Kahnawake syndrome, which causes a lack of fear. He is forced to try out all phobias to become normal again.

This event also takes place Wednesday at 12pm and Thursday at 2pm.
