Filmmaker John Bradburn has put together a programme which traces the ley lines of experimental cinema’s journeys with the esoteric, and its ritualistic dances with popular music. An ideal warm-up for Sympathy for the Devil, this afternoon of occult cinema includes a rare chance to see Kenneth Anger’s Invocation of my Demon Brother (1969), complete with Mick Jagger score. More recent highlights include the James Franco-directed Love in the Old Days (starring Anger as a dark overlord), Brian Butler’s Night of Pan (with a guest appearance from Vincent Gallo), and a ceremonial splattering of boundary-pushing video art.
This is not a ticketed event, but pay whatever you like, be that pounds, pennies or nothing at all. Flatpack Projects is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
