Mark Locke's Saturday Night Takeaway feat. Misty's Big Adventure

Saturday 3rd February, 2007

MAC | 20:30

A rare insight into the life of a Tamworth movie maverick. Mark Locke built up a reputation during the 90s with a string of bizarre and very funny self-funded shorts including

The Missing Link, Eat In, and the wonderfully-titled When I Leave The Sixth Form I’m Getting Straight Into Something Media Related. A feature was the natural next step, and in 2001 he embarked on

A heart-warming comedy about a seven-foot boxing shrimp. The experience was not entirely pleasant, and Locke emerged bloody but unbowed. He has since developed a line in smart, skewed music videos for the likes of Ten Benson, Jeffrey Lewis and Misty’s Big Adventure, whose ‘Fashion Parade’ promo was a youtube hit last year and nearly got the band lynched in Scotland. Thankfully they survived, and will be joining Mark and host Adrian Goldberg for an enjoyable rummage through his back-catalogue.
