On Location walking tour

Sunday 18th March, 2012

Snow Hill Station | 12:00

Join Mark Wilson on a discovery of the city's rich TV & Movie past, present & future.

Mark Wilson spent three months of 2011 on the trail of BBC's Hustle and their filming locations around the city of Birmingham. Seeing his home city used as a London substitute led Mark to research other shows and movies that had previously used city locations. This approximately 90 minute walking tour has many tales of con artists, soap queens, game show kings and even a phantom flan flinger. Join Mark on a discovery of the city's rich TV & Movie past, present & future.

12:00: Tour will start at Snow Hill Station, outside 1 Colmore Row 14:30: Tour will start at Five Brindleyplace

This event is presented in partnership with Still Walking, a new festival offering guided tours by local historians, architects, walking artists, psychogeographers, dancers, micro navigators and ramblers. Still Walking bridges the gap between Flatpack and Fierce, and is intended to complement and overlap the two festivals in its themes.

All events will proceed as advertised; if wet weather looks likely, please dress accordingly. If the guide or organisers decide that weather or conditions make it dangerous or impossible to continue, there will be an indoor, informal social event with the guide and ticket holders, with refreshments, at a nearby venue. The guide will be available to talk about their subject and answer questions. Tickets are sold on the understanding that this replacement may take place.
