Rejetée
Sellotape Cinema asks the question: if La Jetée was a sound-synchronised slide presentation, would it still be a film?
Chris Marker’s La Jetée is a beautiful film constructed almost entirely from stills, a photomontage telling the story of a man who is haunted by an image, the truth of which is not revealed until the final scene. In this special re-working of the film, Sellotape Cinema asks the question: if it were presented as a sound-synchronised slide presentation, would it still be a film? Watch La Jetée reconfigured through a vintage twin-lens slide-film projector that automatically advances and dissolves between images.
