Silent Night
An evening of silent film and live music at Birmingham Cathedral
Following the huge success of Flatpack’s opening night earlier this year, we return to Birmingham Cathedral for another very special evening of silent film and live music.
Our feature presentation is The Cameraman, from 1928. Buster Keaton’s final silent feature, it’s a beautifully daft romantic comedy about a young man who takes a job filming for MGM just to get near a girl, and includes plenty of the brilliant, jaw-dropping sight gags you’d expect from Keaton.
To warm up we have a couple of classic shorts, including Thomas Edison’s 1910 version of A Christmas Carol, and presiding over the grand piano will be Brecon-based film pianist Paul Shallcross. Festive refreshments are included in the ticket price.
Tickets: £5
Available on the door, or in advance via:
Flatpack Festival in partnership with Colmore BID, as part of the Film Bug programme. Film Bug returns to the city centre in March 2013.
