Starman

Saturday 9th September, 2017

Stirchley Baths | 19:45

Dir. John Carpenter USA 1984 Cert: PG

As part of The Dead Shrines Project (which sees Birmingham artists Hipkiss and Graney build and erect a large sculpture in Stirchley Park) we’re screening the John Carpenter classic, Starman. Jeff Bridges is an alien visitor to Earth who is knocked off course and must take an interstate road trip to rendezvous with a mothership from his home planet. To complete this journey he assumes the physical form of the dead husband of a Wisconsin widow (Karen Allen) who responds first with fear, then sympathy, and finally love.

Preceded by UFO Encounters - a short archive film about alien sightings in the Midlands.

There won't be a bar, but feel free to bring your own drink.

Please be aware that this event will now take place at Stirchley Baths, not Stirchley Park as previously advertised
