The Electric Cinema Screen 2 | 11:00 - 12:15

Spirits, aliens, talking animals and monsters lurk in the shadows of this otherworldly shorts competition programme.

Spirits, aliens, talking animals and monsters lurk in the shadows of this otherworldly programme, more dream than nightmare. Here, felt tip pens and crayons create colourful parallel universes, inhabited by strange and endearing characters. Internationally renowned animators return to the UK with their new masterpieces. Nighthawk, by Spela Cadez, takes us on a nightride with a tipsy badger, and Summer Camp Island, by Julia Pott, is every bit as wonderful as her previous films (Belly, The Event), displaying a sense of humour and melancholy that has earned her worldwide recognition.
