This Christmas the greatest silent comedian who ever graced the silver screen, Buster Keaton joins us* as we take his dazzling film The Cameraman on a three-stop tour through the Midlands. The film sees Buster fall for Sally, a secretary who works for MGM. In an attempt to impress her, Buster purchases a movie camera and decides to try and make it as a filmmaker. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, it looks as though his movie-making career is destined to fail, until he gets a tip-off about something going down in Chinatown. With the help of a monkey he heads down there and manages to capture some amazing footage, but is it enough for Sally to requite his feelings towards her?

The Cameraman was Buster’s final truly great film and is still a marvel today, almost 90 years on.

Accompanying the film on the piano is the brilliant John Sweeney, and there will be a couple of festive silent shorts preceding the feature. Seasonal refreshments will also be available.

Doors open at 7pm. Main feature starts at 8pm.
