Rikard faces an extraordinary struggle in very ordinary surroundings. Born with autism and a facial deformity that limits his ability to communicate, he longs to be both part of a community and independent. Although his verbal communication is limited, Rikard’s imagination is boundless: in his mind he is a giant, able to overcome all obstacles as he searches for his birth mother and attempts to conquer the world at his chosen sport of boules. This beautiful, strange film is the debut feature from long-time Flatpack favourite Johannes Nyholm, who will take part in a Q&A after the screening. See also Johannes Nyholm Retrospective.
