The Mockingbird Cinema - Screen 2 | 12:00 - 13:15

In this conversation event, two creatives share examples of recent work which explores the experience of their grandparents' generation through archive and reminiscences.

Damilola Lemomu is a visual artist who works across film, archive and theatre. Her film Promised Land is an experimental collaboration with young actors to illuminate stories from the Birmingham Black Oral History Project, weaving the results together with poetry and archival footage.

Farrah Chaudhry writes poetry, plays and short stories. One of her first screen projects, Look At Us was a collaboration with actor-director Hussina Raja. Built around a poem by Farrah, it pays homage to the Pakistani diaspora and reflects on migration and loss.

While Mockingbird Screen 2 is accessible by wheelchair, there is currently no access to the disabled toilet from this screen.
