Madame Hyde
Isabelle Huppert is on top form in this loose adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Playing the meek Madame Géquil, a high school science teacher who lacks authority over her class, she gets hit by lightning during one of her experiments. Her passive persona then subsides as a different side to her character comes to the fore. With some brilliantly funny moments including one of the best eulogies you’ll ever see, and plenty of scene stealing by Romain Duris as the idiosyncratic headmaster, Madame Hyde is a total joy, and particularly recommended viewing for any teachers out there. We’re delighted director Serge Bozon will be answering questions after the screening.
