Shaun of the Dead
Although we’re not using the Z-word, this is that half of our Vampires vs Zombies weekend.
There’s no Last of Us-esque cordyceps here, just good old-fashioned Romero-style zombies, lumbering around on the hunt for human brains. Not that Shaun (Simon Pegg) notices for a while though; he’s got a girlfriend to win back, his mom’s to go round and his life to sort out! Only after a quick pint at The Winchester though.
Edgar Wright’s 2004 rom-com-zom is the kind of film best experienced with an audience and don’t be surprised if you find yourself joining in on a little quote-along at some point. Just be careful on your way to the venue. Rumour has it that there’s monsters in them there Digbeth arches.
