Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit with Luisa Omielan

Thursday 19th May, 2022

The Electric Cinema Screen 1 | 20:00 - 22:10

Brummie comedian Luisa Omielan has an unwavering passion for Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (who doesn’t?!), and she’s bringing the film to this year’s Flatpack.

Luisa is a dog Mummy to Bernie, a consumer of Cher, hoisin sauce and weird pyjama sets that come up as facebook ads - and “one of the biggest stand up hits of the decade” according to the Guardian. (Best known for her standup show-turned-book ‘What would Beyonce do?’)

She’s picked out one of her all time favourite comedy films for the festival. If you've never seen it, you're in for a treat. Sister Act 2 sees Whoopi Goldberg's 'Sister Mary Clarence' (aka Showgirl Deloris Van Cartier) return for a rip-roaring couple of hours of great tunes and a lorra laughs. Called back 'into the habit' by her old friends, Deloris must save her old school from closure while simultaneously capturing the hearts and minds of the students through music.

Luisa will give a special introduction before the film.

This event is part of our new comedy strand, presented in partnership with the exceptional Glee Club.
