Sound Book Project + Le Nez
A completely unique sound, and performance, the Sound Book Project is a live performance combining acoustic instruments, electronics, and sounds made from books.
Created by artists and musicians Amy Sterly, Thom Snell, Max Simpson, Sam Owen, Ant Dickinson, and Scott Davies, the Sound Book Project is a live performance combining acoustic instruments, electronics, and sounds made from books. The soundscape evolves from cracking spines, strumming pages, and various amounts of winding, springing, slapping and throwing. A completely unique sound, and performance.
Preceding the Sound Book Project are Chinese animator Lei Lei’s short film, Book on Books (2015), and pianist Florence Ellis performing her own accompaniment to pinboard animator Alexander Alexeieff and Claire Parker’s seminal short Le Nez (1963).
