Flatpack 2026: Submissions Open!

Submit your short film to the twentieth Flatpack Festival.

We'll be celebrating Flatpack no.20 in 2026 (8-16 May), and we're now accepting all types and genres of short films to be considered for the programme. We are a BAFTA Qualifying Festival, so not only will successful submissions earn a place in our shorts programme - they could also go on to win a BAFTA.

What can I submit?

Films need to be completed after January 2024 and must be under 20 minutes long.

How do I submit?

We use the platform Film Freeway - just scroll to the bottom of this page and click the big ol’ Film Freeway button.

Is there a cost?

Submission fees for short films are £23 before 14 December and £29 after.

Are there cash prizes?

Yes indeed. Nine in fact - ranging from £200 to £1,000 for the Short Film Award.

When do I need to submit by?

Earlybird deadline is 11:59pm, Sunday 14 December 2025 and the final deadline is 11:59pm, Sunday 25 January 2026.
