“It’s crazy. How the **** did it get to this?” muses Jason Williamson, head under a towel after a festival-conquering Glastonbury set.

Dir: Christine Franz Germany/UK 2017, 103mins Cert: 15*

“It’s crazy. How the **** did it get to this?” muses Jason Williamson, head under a towel after a festival-conquering Glastonbury set. It’s been an interesting couple of years for Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods, from the back rooms of pubs to feted “voice of the people” status, and Christine Franz and her small crew have been along for the ride. As well as offering a welcome opportunity to get to know Williamson and his cryptic sidekick Andrew Fearn, Bunch of Kunst introduces us to bus-driver-turned-manager Steve Underwood, and we watch the three of them navigate the music industry merry-go-round with humour and ambivalence.

This is Christine Franz’s debut feature. Before building a career in music television in Germany she was a student in Birmingham and a regular at the Electric and 7 Inch Cinema, so it's a pleasure to welcome her to Flatpack for this special ‘homecoming’ screening.
