Oxide Ghosts + Q&A

Wednesday 1st May, 2019

The Electric Cinema Screen 1 | See below for performance times

Whether it was risking life and limb asking actual drug dealers for "clarky cat" or persuading an army of celebrities to campaign against the dangers of cake ("a made-up drug"), Chris Morris' 1997 series Brass Eye turned television on its head.

Incurring a deluge of complaints and legal threats, much of the show's background has since remained shrouded in myth. This fascinating collage of outtakes helps to pull back the veil, pieced together by Brass Eye director Michael Cumming from hundreds of hours of behind-the-scenes material including a never-broadcast phone interview with Reggie Kray. After the screening Cumming will take part in a Q&A hosted by Stewart Lee (6pm showing only).
