Not entirely dissimilar to Waveform (Flatpack's artist development programme), Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire have joined forces to offer NEXT Music, a year-long training programme for emerging performers of contemporary music.

This event sees the NEXT cohort combining live performance with moving image - the films ranging from the surrealist Franco-Spanish 1929 film Un Chien Andalou to Nicole Lizée’s spellbinding Alfred Hitchcock mashup.

The evening will also feature the world premiere of a brand-new piece of music and video specially created for this performance by multi-award winning composer Lara Poe.
