The Sad and Beautiful World of Sparklehorse + Q&A

Wednesday 5th April, 2017

The Glee Club | 19:00 - 22:30

An insight into alt-rock band Sparklehorse and its founder Mark Linkous, who committed suicide in 2010.

The otherworldly lyrics and dreamlike music of alt-rock band Sparklehorse are mirrored in the painful yet inspiring life of singer-songwriter and founder Mark Linkous. Following Linkous’ tragic suicide in 2010, West Midlands-based filmmakers Alex Crowton and Bobby Dass enlisted Linkous' friend and collaborator Angela Faye Martin to tell his story, along with testimony from the likes of Jonathan Donahue (Mercury Rev), Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Adrian Utley (Portishead) and many others. The event will also include live musical guests and a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Presented in association with Glee Club and Bo Ho Films.

Tickets available only through the Glee Club website.

Dir: Alex Crowton, Bobby Dass UK 2016, 83 mins
