Absolute Denial

David, a young and talented computer programmer, decides to build a supercomputer of unprecedented power.

He sets up his machine in an isolated warehouse, where he spends day and night feeding it data until it develops its own artificial intelligence. Aware of the risks, David has designed an “absolute denial” protocol, that is supposed to prevent the AI from getting the upper hand over its creator… Man vs machine is a theme often illustrated in science-fiction, but this independent animation is a fresh and exciting addition to the genre. The fast-paced script unfolds like a game of chess, and the beautiful black and white 2D animation transports us into a mind-bending world. Entirely written and animated by British director Ryan Braund during lockdown, this 61-minute film is an impressive achievement and a promising first feature.
