Billie Whitelaw Spotlight: The Omen

This second film in Warwick Art Centre's celebration of Coventry actress Billie Whitelaw, sees her in one of her most notable roles in the horror classic, The Omen.

US diplomat Robert Thorn adopts baby boy Damien to fill the void left in his home by his wife's miscarriage. But things quickly begin to take a sinister turn as, unbeknownst to the couple, Damien is none other than the son of the devil. Billie Whitelaw plays the unforgettable, demonic nanny, Mrs Baylock in this masterpiece of genre cinema.

Before the feature film, there will be an exclusive screening of CineCov Stories: Billie and Colin, a short documentary filmed and edited by filmmaker Paul Stringer and produced by Ian Francis from Flatpack, including an interview with Whitelaw's childhood best friend, Colin Watkins, who shares stories and fond memories of his beloved pal.
