BPFF Presents: Rudy + Director Q&A
Sunday 28th May, 2023
The festival operates on a pay-what-you-can basis so there is no financial barrier to attend.
Shona Auerbach's new film 'Rudy' is the closing film of this year's Big Picture Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Shot in Coventry and Warwickshire several years ago, the film is finally enjoying the buzz and acclaim it deserves.
Set in the heart of rural England, Rudy finds her relationship with her father being tested. Stuck as a proxy parent to her younger siblings and dealing with a recent loss, she feels increasingly pushed out when her home gets opened up to a paying guest. Through a newfound friendship with a boy from Coventry, she discovers fun, freedom and autonomy, but is it at the sacrifice of unspoken family wounds? Rudy is a poignant insight into love, loss and moving on.
Following the film, Shona Auerbach and some of the key cast and crew will particpate in a Q&A with festival curator, Brian Harley.
