Colour Box: Wildlife Wonders
Colour Box: Wildlife Wonders
Thursday 8th August, 2024
Free entry. Drop-in any time between 11am and 3pm.
We're heading over to the Barber Institute of Fine Arts for a day of film, light & shadow play, projector-making, and much more.
Taking the natural world as a starting point, all of the drop-in activities will involve making use of found natural objects. Discover how the projected image works by making your own DIY beamer using a toilet roll and a torch, create an insect-themed shadow-puppet-show with help from an oldskool OHP, and produce an art print using paint, fruit, and vegetables. And if all of that's not enough, Flatpack have curated a brilliant selection of environmentally-themed short films that will play on loop throughout the day including the recently handed out Colour Box Award from this year's Flatpack Festival - the absolutely wonderful *What's up with the Sky? *
As well as the screening programme, all workshop activities will be drop-in, running throughout the day. They will be delivered by Small World Cinema and artist Sarah Hamilton Baker.
