Documentary Screening: SOA + Live Music from KMRU
Thursday 4th November, 2021
Chapter House is beside Coventry Cathedral and is accessed externally via Priory Street.
A part of everyday life which many of us take for granted, this documentary draws our attention (and ear) to sound, soundscapes, silence and noise.
As well as exploring lots of other themes such as ecology, citizenship, equality and urban policies, Raquel Castro’s film examines the act of listening as a catalyst for transformation and sounds that are part of our everyday life and places.
Through encounters with a wide range of international sound artists and field recordists (including Chris Watson, David Toop, Hildegard Westerkamp, Leah Barclay and Peter Cusack), this documentary explores how the soundscape affects us and how we are responsible for the sound we generate.
The event will also include a live performance by acclaimed ambient artist, KMRU, in the central nave of Coventry Cathedral.
This event os part of the Coventry Biennial.
