Amazing collection of stencil colour films from the 1900s, with new scores by composition students from the Conservatoire.

We’re teaming up with Birmingham Conservatoire’s Frontiers Festival to present a selection of exquisite, early twentieth century silent shorts from the Pathé archives. Each of the films are based on fairy tales with every frame hand-stencilled with colour, bringing a vibrancy and magical quality to these forgotten gems. Providing the live soundtracks will be a group of Conservatoire students currently studying on the esteemed composition course.
