Film Earlsdon Presents: After Love

Film Earlsdon launches its second season of films, an eclectic mix of British gems and compelling international titles. This month's film is the 2020 British drama film, 'After Love'.

Not just a shock but a double shock for Mary Hussein. First her husband Ahmed dies unexpectedly. Then, sometime after his funeral, she looks through his wallet and discovers that he had another life with another woman. Not to mention another family. She duly sets off across the English Channel to find out more. It’s a film that rises above the sum of its parts thanks to writer and director Aleem Khan’s assured storytelling and a fine performance from Joanna Scanlon as the devastated widow.
