FILM EARLSDON PRESENTS: Parallel Mothers

Film Earlsdon launches its second season of films, an eclectic mix of British gems and compelling international titles. January's film is 'Parallel Mothers' a Spanish drama film written and directed by the legendary, Pedro Almodóvar.

Parallel Mothers debuted at the Venice Film festival where it was hailed as “full of life”. Well, it is set in a maternity ward. Penelope Cruz and Milena Smit play single mothers Janis and Ana. Both became pregnant by accident. One is middle-aged and exultant, the other adolescent and scared. Complications and bonding follow in a film full of warmth, flair and moral quandaries.
