Film Liberation Project Premiere 1.0
Film Liberation Project Premiere 1.0
Saturday 17th July, 2021
Free entry.
The Film Liberation Project have teamed up with The Tin Music and Arts to present a night of film and conversation with debut filmmakers from Coventry and the UK.
Funded by a grant through Arts Council England's Emergency Response Funds, The Film Liberation Project aims to break down barriers, making filmmaking more accessible and more inclusive.
"It’s about working with what you’ve got and giving yourself permission to create and try new things, learning film through making, watching, discussing, collaborating and getting things wrong."
During the project pilot, specific genres and ideas were explored through a selection of shorts, features, video essays, articles, interview and fan and film theory. Local filmmakers led Zoom seminars combining pratical tips, theoretical discussions, film history and DIY ethics, and each month the participants created their own mini projects - exploring new techniques and using whatever they had available.
Join the project team at Fargo Village where participants will share their journey - from finding their voice through film to developing their creative craft. This'll also give you a taste of what's in store for future courses, workshops and talks - perfect for budding filmmakers!
