Spotlight on Staffordshire

Film Hub Midlands and Staffordshire Libraries Service are proud to present Films Inside, a brand-new film club running across two very different spaces: Perton Library and HMP Featherstone prison library.

As part of the Spotlight on Staffordshire programme, Films Inside celebrates the power of stories by bringing together two communities through the shared experience of cinema. This special season showcases some of the very best book-to-screen adaptations, from timeless classics to cult favourites.

Expect monthly film nights at Perton Library and experience a hand-picked selection of contemporary British and independent films — from laugh-out-loud comedies to tense psychological dramas. Some screenings will be followed by interactive review workshops, where audiences can write “letters to the film” — reviews that will be shared with audiences at HMP Featherstone and published on the Film Hub Midlands website.

In parallel, HMP Featherstone residents will enjoy the same curated programme, leading up to a special pop-up cinema event created by the team behind Flatpack Festival, transforming the prison chapel into a big-screen experience for one night only. This finale will include an exclusive Q&A with special guests.
