Afternoon delight

By way of a warm-up for the Flatpack festival in January and as part of the Big Picture Weekend taking place across the city this November, 7inch will be whiling away a couple of afternoons at the recently-refurbished Electric cinema.

SATURDAY 5 NOV
2pm: The Adventures of Prince Achmed
(dir: Lotte Reiniger, Germany 1926, 66 mins)
One of the first animated features, this beautiful silhouette film will be accompanied live by TOMtheFLOW (Cube, Bristol) on decks and effects.
4pm: The Devil and Daniel Johnston
(dir: Jeff Feuerzeig, US 2004, 110 mins)
Sundance-winning portrait of a troubled and massively influential singer-songwriter/cartoonist.

SUNDAY 6 NOV
2-5pm: 7inch Sunday Roast
Stretched-out Sabbath of musical and videological entertainment, with a quiz to boot.
6pm: We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen
(dir: Tim Irwin, US 2004, 85 mins)
Our grand finale, a heartfelt tribute to San Pedro's finest - chockful of brilliant early 80s live footage plus contributions from Flea, Rollins, Thurston Moore and suchlike.
