Gardens Cinema: Jurassic Park

Gardens Cinema is back this summer for four evenings of outdoor screenings at Botanical Gardens, presented in partnership with Mockingbird Cinema.

We're roaring into action on Sunday night with Jurassic Park, the blockbuster that made audiences everywhere look twice at a ripple in the water.

This ground-breaking adventure brings prehistoric giants back to life with unforgettable suspense, a soaring score, and teeth-baring spectacle. From the first awe-struck glimpse of a brachiosaurus to the chilling tremor of approaching footsteps, it’s pure cinematic magic.

Wear your best safari chic (khaki encouraged) and join us for one of the most iconic summer movies ever made — 65 million years in the making.

What to expect on the night

Food

A hand-picked selection of local street food traders will be serving from 7pm each evening, with options rotating across the four-night series. Expect:

• Pizza from Smoke + Ash
• Dirty Fries from Manny’s Eats
• Sweet treats, grab and go salads, sandwiches, and hot drinks from Medicine Bakery

Drinks

The Gardens Bar will be open throughout the night, serving:

• Craft beers and cider

Garden Shop & Film Merch

The Gardens pop-up shop will be stocked with gifts, garden-ware and locally made items. Don't forget to check out Mockingbird’s cinema-themed merch stall, featuring t-shirts, pin badges, and other cult film keepsakes.

Pre-film entertainment

Get ready to roar along with the Sekine Quartet as they perform a selection of family film favourites, including John Williams’ iconic original Jurassic Park score, creating the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable journey into a world of adventure before the screening.
