Green Futures: The Lion King - Open Air Screening + Family Workshops
Saturday 21st May, 2022
Now that the sunshine is roaring back into our lives, come along to Coventry’s Edgwick Park for an open air screening of Disney’s animated family classic The Lion King as part of the Green Futures programme.
Before the main event, there will be an animal and nature themed family friendly crafts workshop run by Emily Summers and a selection of nature themed short films suitable for all ages, courtesy of Flatpack.
The Lion King tells the coming of age story of Lion prince Simba, who, with a little help from his friends, bravely accepts his destiny as the King of the Pride Lands.
Green Futures is a flagship programme for Coventry UK City of Culture 2021. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with support from Garfield Weston Foundation and Severn Trent Community Fund, Green Futures explores Coventry and Warwickshire’s wildlife, natural heritage, and landscape, uncovering the story of its ‘hidden nature’ and increasing local stewardship. Through the Green Futures programme, Coventry will become the greenest and most environmentally conscious UK City of Culture to date.
