Kaliber16 & MimiCof: Moon Synch

UK premiere of new show Moon Synch

Berlin-based duo Markus Wambsganss (alias Kaliber16) and Japanese musician Mimicof (Midori Hirano) present the UK premiere of their new show Moon Synch, previewing Mimicof’s latest LP release of the same name (out in May on the The Notwist’s Alien Transistor label). Classically trained, Mimicof uses traditional instrumentation (piano, strings, voice), but brings an experimental edge by layering subtle electronics and digital samples on top to create a rich tapestry of melodic and unusual sounds. Wambsganss translates the audio signal into abstract video lines and merges them with structural film loops from his archive.

Preceding the show, Wambsganss has selected three classic short films that have had a direct influence on his video work.
