Last year 7 Inch Cinema were invited to come up with something crafty to complement the ‘Fabric of Myth’ exhibition at Compton Verney, and Knitflicks was the result. Traversing the globe, all 15 shorts, animations and music videos in this programme touch on wool or thread in some way.  Our favourites include Simon Hook’s sci-fi comedy Knit Your Own Karma, a psychedelic Yugoslavian cartoon called Knitting Pretty, and a clip of a Lego knitting machine. There are a couple of great Gondry promos in there too. Kings Heath knitters collective Stitches and Hos will be on hand with needles, wool and tips for beginners, and we’ll have the first UK peek at a documentary about North America’s craft scene, Handmade Nation.
