It’s about this point in the festival when some feel the need to let rip, and if so then this could be the place to do it. Capsule will be carefully ramming the Jug of Ale to the rafters with a dazzling array of bands, films, artists, DJs, record-stalls and Gord knows what else, a barrage of homemade entertainment designed to furnish you with a storming Saturday night out. Your moveable feast includes…
THREADS The world’s greatest diy stadium rock band, roughly equivalent to the force of an atomic bomb hitting Sheffield.
ARMY OF FLYING ROBOTS One of the brightest stars on the UK’s underground grindcore scene – expect lots of screaming over blastbeats and dirty guitar noise.
BEE STUNG LIPS Chaotic, drunken, loud, fast, punk rock music. HOT RODDY Playing live sitar and mangled electronica from his recent Wrong Music lp.. BELA EMERSON Intense performance combining electric cello and effects. THE DIRTY CAKES Cabaret jazz swing metal. FILMS including day-glo mind-bleed animations from PAPER RAD, spoof Black Metal documentary LEGALIZE MURDER, and plenty of interweb wrongness courtesy of PHLUMX. RECORD STALLS – including IAPETUS, STATIC CARAVAN, BEAROS and HOLY ROAR records. DJS - including Zip, Static Brothers and Lee Seafood. CAKE – featuring LEMON DRIZZLE (Warp), ALMOND SLICE (Crunchy) and JAM ROLY-POLY (new 12” on Mucky Spatula) http://www.capsule.org.uk/
