Fifteen years after his last brilliant stop-motion feature, Australian animator Adam Elliot returns with this emotional comedy rollercoaster of a film.
The film tells the story of twin siblings Grace and Gilbert who, after the death of their father, are sent to live in starkly contrasting worlds – Grace with free-loving swingers and Gilbert with religious fundamentalists. Along the way, Grace crosses paths with Pinkie, a woman with a colourful past and an even more colourful personality. Past exploits include sex with John Denver and ping-pong matches with Fidel Castro.
This is a special preview with the film not released nationally until February, and we’re delighted to be joined by Oscar-winning director Adam Elliot.
This screening is the first of Flatpack's new monthly residency at The Mockingbird. Expect all manner of films – previews, rediscovered gems, and under-the-radar curiosities you won't find anywhere else.
We’re pleased to present this screening in partnership with The Mockingbird Cinema and Overlap.
