In the first of our mid-length programmes, we discover a mysterious island, follow a wolf through the forest, and cross bridges with people who (literally) meet each other halfway.

Films

Naya
(Dir: Sebastian Mulder, Netherlands 2021, 24 mins)
When Naya – the first wolf in Belgium in a hundred years – appears, she suddenly makes headlines... Until her presence takes a mysterious turn. This fascinating experimental documentary questions the relationship between humans and the iconic wild animal.

The Bridge
(Dir: Jordi Ruiz Cirera, US 2020, 23 mins)
Jesenia and Luis, a binational couple separated by immigration laws in the US, ask for the help of Ruben, a wedding officer, to get married on the bridge crossing the US-Mexico border. An eye-opening documentary that challenges the conventional depiction of immigration.

Terra Incognita
(Dir: Pernille Kjaer, Adrian Dexter, France 2021, 21 mins)
Immortal beings live peacefully on a mysterious island, until one day “modern civilisation” arrives... Combining mythological references, psychedelic creatures and humour, this stunning animation is an instant classic.
