Mini Oramics Workshop

A chance to play with Oramics for the first time in 40 years.

The original Oramics machine was created by composer Daphne Oram in the mid 1960s, a synthesiser designed to read graphic scores which now sits beyond repair in the collection at the Science Museum. Oram also began work on a smaller offshoot she later dubbed ‘Mini Oramics’, a more portable device that might have had genuine commercial potential as a product for electronic musicians. Sadly she had to abandon the project, but as part of his PhD at Goldsmiths University Tom Richards decided to explore the potential for resurrecting Mini Oramics. Today’s workshop is an opportunity to work with Oramics for the first time in forty years. No booking required - drop in at any time.
