Round up your family and friends and get ready to have the time of your life as Compton Verney host four outdoor screenings of some of your favourite films set against the backdrop of its majestic lakeside.

West Side Story is an updated adaptation of the 1957 musical of the same name and explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. Film director Steven Spielberg has long wanted to make a musical and the wait was worth it as the master filmmaker wows us with his intensely committed offering of the cinematic musical. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards (and winning one - for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for Ariana DeBose).

Digbeth Dining Club

Digbeth Dining Club will be joining us too, so get ready to eat delicious street food, sit back and relax and enjoy your favourite film!

If this is your first visit to an outdoor cinema event, here are a few things we’d recommend bringing along:

• Something comfy to sit on, seating is not provided. Camping chairs work well.

Please remember not to bring any pop-up structures or other items which could obscure the film for other visitors.

• Warm clothing and a toasty blanket to wrap up in, as the weather can often turn quite chilly later on in the evenings.
• You may also want to bring waterproof clothing, just in case… we are in the UK after all!

Please remember to pack up and dispose of any rubbish at the end of the evening. When leaving the event, a torch can also be useful but we will light your way with our festoons and driveway lighting!

Finally, it is recommend that you make transport arrangements in advance. Check the Compton Verney website for directions. Share cars, reducing the number of drivers and your emissions impact.
