Recommended for spectators from the age of 4 upwards, the Colour Box short film competition showcases the best of international animation and gives children the opportunity to vote for the winner of the Colour Box Audience award.

This collection of stories about kinship and belonging is the first of our two programmes of short films to be enjoyed with the family.

An owl seeking its mum meets friends along the way in A Bit Lost; a house goes looking for the family that left it to live in the city in The House; a funny bird searches for a companion that will accept it as it is in Sabaku; and a dad reveals his talents in* My Daddy’s Stinky Dancing Pants*, written by a talented 6 year-old girl and animated by Birmingham studio Yamination.
