Every year we showcase dozens of excellent short films from around the world, and every year a few leap out as truly outstanding.

Whether it's your favourite hard-hitting documentary, or a wacky animation, this is where the best of the fest really gets a chance to shine.

The prizes up for grabs this year are awards from across our Main Competition, Mid-Length, Optical Sound, Screendance, and Colour Box strands, and includes the coveted Best Short, which comes with a not-too-shabby £1000 cash prize.
