Stoke Screen Presents: Hell or Highwater

Stoke Screen Film Club's Season 7 offers cinema audiences yet another marvellous mix of compelling international titles and copper-bottomed classics.

Hell or High Water is an American neo-Western crime drama from 2016 directed by David Mackenzie. It follows two brothers who carry out a series of bank robberies to save their family ranch, while being pursued by two Texas Rangers. The film is well regarded, with the the American Film Institute selecting it as one of its ten Movies of the Year, and it was nominated for numerous awards, including four Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Jeff Bridges), Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing.
