Before Nick Abrahams runs off to catch his train (see also The Bruce Lacey Experience), we thought we’d squeeze one more screening out of him. From being a symbol of hope in Soviet-era Eastern Europe to acting as a form of rebellion for youths in Iran, Depeche Mode have exerted a powerful influence on their fans in some unexpected corners of the earth. The film’s choice to overlook the group themselves maintains the air of mystique constructed by their devotees, resulting in an enjoyable oddity which sidesteps the usual talking-heads formula.
