Vincent Dance Theatre Presents: Home Truths

Vincent Dance Theatre (VDT) is sharing its new multi-screen film installation and engagement activities in Arcadia Gallery in November.

Drawing from VDT’s previous productions *In Loco Parenents *(2020) and Art of Attachment (2018), *Home Truths *is the result of Vincent’s collaboration with care-experienced young people and women in recovery from substance misuse and domestic violence, performing alongside VDT’s familiar professional performers.

Made over the course of 2 years, the film explores notions of home, family and belonging, providing a platform to reflect on the lived experience of adverse childhood experiences and the impact of trauma. The installation offers space to hear the voices of those who are often unheard and to consider the emotional labour involved by family intervention practitioners, parents, carers and support workers associated with the communities represented in the work.
