And despite the fact 18,000 have shut their doors in Britain over the last 30 years it’s still a haven for many of us, and so we pay homage to the pub with a selection of archive films about our treasured watering holes.

Featuring two of the Pythons (Palin & Jones) in a 70s promotional film for Guinness, and some local footage of some Midlands taverns provided by the Media Archive for Central England.
